White Plains Housing Authority

White Plains Housing Authority provides housing assistance to low income residents through the management of Low Rent Public Housing. This program is income based and the eligibility guidelines are set by HUD.There may be waiting lists for these rentals and at times the lists may close to new applicants based on the size of and length of wait on the lists. If you are in need of housing assistance in the area please contact the Housing Authority directly to obtain more information about eligibility requirements, availability of rentals, the status of any waiting lists and their application procedures.

Phase I of the redevelopment ended in 2016, with the opening of a $42 million, 10-story building called "The Prelude." The building has 103 affordable apartments. The White Plains Education and Training Center, which offers a variety of classes and vocational training for city residents, occupies the ground floor.
